Unveiled at TechCrunch in San Francisco, Mint.com tops our list of favorite FREE website services for 2007. Mint not only integrates all of your credit cards and bank accounts into one online overview, but allows you drill down, and even makes some recommendations. If you are paying too much in fees or not making enough in interest, Mint knows, and will suggest some alternatives, which is how the folks at mint.com make their money, by referring you to "special deals" on credit cards and banking accounts.
Our favorite feature of Mint.com was the simplicity with which is loaded all of our financial accounts into one control panel, and then immediately produced budgets based on monthly averages for each expense category. For a product that was so new to the market, we were surprised by how many of our expenses the system was able to correctly categorize. Mint will also alert you if you have any service fees or late fees or if you are behind on a payment.
Mint is by far the friendliest and most powerful of all of the finacial aggregators we have reviewed. And, when it was unveiled at TechCrunch, it not only earned the attention of the entire venture capital community but won the $50,000 grand prize given away at this year's event.
