Intel, after delivering amazing performance with their Core i7 processors last year, announced the new i5 and i3 processors for Mobile applications this year, plus a variety of nore Core i7 models. The core i* ultra-thin super fast processors represent a leap from the predecessor Core 2 processors.
The chips pull off their amazing new performance specs by adapting quickly to system demands. The transistors in the chips are just 32 nanometers thick, which is half again as thin as previous versions and just a fraction of the thickness of a human hair. The smaller faster transisters are so fast that they can partially shut down and then power up again only when the system needs to run at full steam.
Intel claims that the graphics performance of the new processors is roughly 70 percent better than the integrated graphics in the current Core 2 silicon.
Unlike the Core i7 which is targeted at desktop computers and power laptops, the new Core i3 and i5 are optimized for mobile applications, and will be likely found on nearly ALL future laptops according to the laptop manufacturers we spoke with.
